Watch our latest webinar on "Optical Characterization of CIGS by Spectroscopic Ellipsometry
Oct, 24th - In this webinar, Dr Arnaud Etcheberry from CNRS-UVSQ, France, explains his strategy to perform quantitative spectroscopic ellipsometry on CIGS semicoducting thin films.
Join us for our live webinar on Optical Characterization of CIGS by Spectroscopic Ellipsometry, held on Thursday, October 20th, at 10 am and 5 pm CEST.
Spectroscopic Ellipsometry is an efficient and non-destructive method for extracting optical constants of materials in the UV-VIS-NIR wavelength ranges. The optical constants (n,k) of a material are among the most important sets of optical data and are specific to the material being studied.
During this webinar, you will learn how to define a strategy to perform quantitative Spectroscopic Ellipsometry on CIGS semiconducting thin films.
Ellipsometry Day in Brazil
This one day event took place in ITA (Instituto Tecnologico Aeronautico) in Brazil, on June 29, 2016.
It offered a learning morning focussed on principles and fundamentals of ellipsometry and an afternoon dedicated to practice session with unique networking opportunities for attendees and presenter alike!
Thank you to all attendees and our guest speaker, Prof. Hugo Aguas, making this day both productive and fun.
By bringing our spectroscopy expertise to universities, we look forward to a truly learning experience that will inspire all of us and strenghten the spectroscopy network.
Stay connected for the next ellipsometry day scheduled in France in November 2016!

HORIBA Scientific is proud to participate in the next International Conference on Spectroscopic Ellipsometry (ICSE) in Berlin, 6-10 June 2016.
HORIBA Scientific has a long history of innovation in ellipsometry over the past 25 years. Those innovations include: the phase modulation ellipsometer delivering the highest resolution measurements with the best signal to noise ratio; the liquid crystal ellipsometer measuring full-16 parameters Mueller matrix; a patented imaging system enabling clear visualization of the measurement beam spot on all types of film materials including rough, smooth, transparent and reflective surfaces; an ultra small microspot down to 35 µm available on a large spectral range, and the continuous extension of the spectral range from VUV to NIR.
HORIBA has made a great impact with these innovations, particularly in semiconductor, flat panel display, nanotechnology and materials research.
We invite you to visit our booth to discuss your applications with our experts and learn how our new exciting innovations and capabilities can help with your research needs.
HORIBA Jobin Yvon with its partners is proud to announce the implementation of an in-situ UVISEL Spectroscopic Ellipsometer on the AUTh 6" Black magic CVD tool from Aixtron Ltd within the European Project GLADIATOR.
The GLADIATOR project (Graphene Layers: Production, Characterization and Integration) is driven by the vision of developing an approach to the production of high quality graphene (transmittance ≤ 90%, sheet resistance ≥ 10 Ohm/sq.) both on a large scale and at a low cost. For future CVD graphene manu¬facture, it is essential to monitor in-situ and real-time the quality during the graphene growth process.
GLADIATOR : An international project to improve the manufacture of graphene - FP7 Project
GLADIATOR (Graphene Layers: Production, Characterization and Integration) is a research project funded in part by the European Commission (FP7 grant agreement number 604000) that began on 1st November 2013 and will run for three and a half years (42 months). GLADIATOR seeks to improve the quality and size of CVD graphene sheets, and to reduce their production costs, in order to make the use of graphene more attractive e.g. in applications such as transparent electrodes for large area organic electronics.

An Ellipsometric Study of the Optical Constants of C60 & C70 Thin Films - New Application Notes
Read this new application note where spectroscopic ellipsometry (SE) is used to determine the optical constants of C60 and C70 thin films over the range 0.6-6.5eV (i.e. 190-2100nm). The information provided by the optical constants allows for a better understanding of the electronic structure of these materials.

Smartonics
Smartonics is a Large Scale Integrating R&D Project funded by the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme (NMP.2012.1.4-1 Pilot lines for precision synthesis of nanomaterials). The target of the Smartonics project is the development of Pilot lines that will combine smart technologies with smart nanomaterials for the precision synthesis of Organic Electronic (OE) devices. Smartonics has officially launched in 1st January 2013 and it will run for 4 years (until December 31, 2016).

Clean4Yield project targets contamination and defect control in roll-to-roll organic electronics production
The EU-funded Clean4Yield project will be officially launched on May 1st . Coordinated by Holst Centre/TNO, the three-year project brings together commercial and research partners from Europe and Israel to tackle one of the most pressing issues in organic electronics – ensuring high enough yields for cost-effective manufacturing. To this end, the partners will develop new technologies for inspecting, cleaning and repairing moving foils, and detecting and preventing defects in large-scale roll-to-roll production of OLEDs and OPVs.
